Green Sea Floyds Trojans Varsity defeated Marion 10-5 thanks to a strong start. Green Sea Floyds Trojans Varsity scored on a walk by Bailey Strickland in the first inning, a single by Caroline Davis in the first inning, a passed ball during Abby Marlowe’s at bat in the first inning, a single by Chance Caulder in the first inning, and a double by Strickland in the second inning.

Marion scored three runs in the first inning, but Green Sea Floyds Trojans Varsity still managed to pull out the victory. Marion scored its runs on a error by Waugh.

After Marion scored two runs in the top of the fifth, Green Sea Floyds Trojans Varsity answered with two of their own. Marion scored when Waugh drew a walk, scoring one run and Strickland induced Summer Love to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored. Green Sea Floyds Trojans Varsity then answered when Bailey Carroll lined out, driving in a run and Haley Owens singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Strickland got the win for Green Sea Floyds Trojans Varsity. She lasted seven innings, allowing eight hits and five runs while striking out six.

Cribb was in the pitcher’s circle for Marion. She went four and a third innings, allowing seven runs on six hits and striking out one. Waugh threw one and two-thirds innings in relief.

Green Sea Floyds Trojans Varsity scattered 12 hits in the game. Caulder, Strickland, and Alexis Cox each managed multiple hits for Green Sea Floyds Trojans Varsity. Caulder went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Green Sea Floyds Trojans Varsity in hits. Cox led Green Sea Floyds Trojans Varsity with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with nine stolen bases.

Marion saw the ball well today, racking up eight hits in the game. Johnson and H Lebiedz each had multiple hits for Marion.
